COURSE IN PLANNING AND MANAGING OF CARE SERVICES FOR THE ELDERY
WITH DEPENDENCE
Presentation
This specializtion course, that corresponds to the module 2 (that
can be taken separately) of the master in aging and dependence is
centered in the assessment of dependence, planning of integral care
services and their managing from all points of view.

MASTER IN
AGING AND LONG TERM CARE
Presentation
The new master in aging in long term care wishes to offer the skills
and knowledge needed in order to design policies and services for
the dependent people; assessment of the needs of the elderly and
disabled and design of adequate intervention plans, from a global
psychosocial point of view bearing in mind the integral vision of
the person.
The
recent approval of the Law of Dependence in Spain is an opportunity
and a challenge for the development of long term care services for
the disabled elderly by public and private service provides, as
well as public administrations.

INTERNATIONAL
COURSE IN GERIATRIC MEDICINE
(26th-27th June 2008)
Nowadays,
the medicine practice requires a constant need of knowledge’s update.
A discipline like Geriatrics, that is attending a greater collective
every day, is not away from this need and should continue advancing
to achieve the corresponding interventional level.
This
fourth edition of the International Course in Geriatric Medicine
once again brings together professors from the USA and Europe to
provide updates based on a review of each of the selected themes,
to which they bring their own professional experience.
This
course again involves the University of California at Los Angeles
(UCLA), the University of Toulouse, the Autonomous University of
Barcelona and Britain's Luton University.
The
course is aimed at geriatric doctors, family doctors, internists
and doctors from other specialities where older people are frequently
treated.

CURS BÀSIC
D'EPIDEMIOLOGIA I METODOLOGIA CIENTÍFIC EN L'ÀMBIT
DE L'ENVELLIMENT
This
course is targetes to primary care professionals and also people
working in long term care centers who have interest in making research
work in their field.
The
content of the couse will give basic knowledge which will allow
to make a critical reading of scientific literature, ellaborating
a writen scientific communication and designing a study

CLINICAL
GERONTOLOGY MASTER (2006-2008)
This master, promoted by the Medicine Department, directed by Dr.
Miquel Vilardell and with the coordination of the Col·legi
Oficial de Metges de Barcelona, the Vall d'Hebron Hospital and the
Fundació Institut Català de l'Envelliment, has the
following objectives:
1.-
Achieve an integral vision of the aging phenomenon of people and
populations.
2.-
Achive an expert level in Exhaustive Geriatric Assessment
3.- Consolidation of the methodology of team work and coordinated
care.
4.- Achieve a wide knowledge of the physiopathology of aging and
of diagnostic, prevention and treatment of the main diseases
of the elderly.
5.- Achieve expertise in the management of geriatric syndromes
6.- To
become introduced to the scientific methodology applied to the study
of aged populations or elderly people.
TITLES
Master: 340 hours o theory classes: CE 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5,
plus a research report.
Postgraduate Diploma: 190 hours of theory classes: CE 2,
3 and 4, plus research report.
Majoring
courses: 40 to 90 hours of theory classes
