Català de l'Envelliment is structured in 5 activity areas:

Research
area:
This area develops in-house research projects which respond to an
internal interest, and also makes ad-hoc research, developing projects
through specific contracts with public and private institutions. This
activity has guaranteed independence and impact in the scientific
comunity, and, in general, its transfer to the society. We also try
to promote the participation and collaboration with researchers and
existing research units.

Studies
and consultancy area:
The
scope of this area is the identification and research of problems
related to public policy, or related to organisation of services,
as well as recomendations of appropiate mesures and giving technical
assistance in the application of these recomendation in the aging
field.

Participation
and psico-social area
This area
is focalized in the psicological and social aspects of aging, and
in the participation of the elderly. Specific studies and resarch
are undertaken, and, in collaboration with the other areas, it makes
research-action studies, as well as
advise to public and private entities in the design of products and
services.
We promote activities to impulsate the participation processes of
the aged and of the diferent generations in the context of the Active
Aging.

Training
and communication area
This
area designs and renders services in order to facilitate the acquisiton
of knowledge, skills, attitudes and bonds needed in order to:

Developing
in a competent way the tasks of the jobs which relate, directly
or indirectly to the elderly.

Knowing
and understanding the needs of the elderly
-
Improving
the knowledge level of specific aspects the research in the aging
field.

Improving
the quality of life of the elderly
This
actions are directed to geriatrics and gerontology professionals,
but also to professionals who treat with the elderly, and the elderly
themselves and their family environment.

The objective of the aging information services is to become a showcase
of informative reference for the elderly, their family environment
and the professionals who work with this poupulation.
