EFFECTS OF HYDRATION ON COGNITIVE PERFORMANCE IN AN ELDERLY POPULATION

Sunmary: The primary objective of this clinical trial is to investigate the effects of hydration on cognitive performance in elderly subjects. Cognitive performance is compared between regular drinking and ad-lib drinking in elderly subjects. Cognitive function is assessed with a computerized cognitive battery (IntegNeuro Battery).This study is an open randomized, cross-over design and it involves 14 nursing homes from Catalonia.

Summary: A Chi Kung intervention will be made on caregivers
of patients with Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and with people with AD,
qualifying the caregiver to apply this technique at home. The use
of this technique is pioneer in Spain, constituting a new intervention
way, with benefits expected at an integral level for caregivers and
patients.

Summary: CLEAR (Clinical
Leading Environment for the Assessment and Validation of Rehabilitation
Protocols in home care) is a project that proposes a tele-rehabilitation
service that will allow to design, develop and implement clinical protocols
for the rehabilitation of the elderly living at home, with a special
focus on cognitively impaired persons.
